Uluwatu and the Bukit
Uluwatu sits on the Bukit peninsula at Bali's southern tip: dry limestone cliffs, surf breaks and beaches reached by steps. Its clifftop temple and the Kecak performance at sunset are the anchor for most hosted days. The area suits surf, luxury stay and culture content, and its sunsets face the open ocean.

What should I know before going?
The temple's monkeys grab sunglasses, hats and phones. Keep loose items in a closed bag and hold your camera strap. Sarongs and sashes are required; they are usually provided at the entrance.
How far is it from the rest of Bali?
It is closer to the airport than Ubud, but traffic around Jimbaran and the peninsula's roads can be slow at sunset. We plan Bukit days as a block rather than as a round trip from Ubud.
